Popular AEW Star To Explore Options, WWE Interested

An AEW star could be getting ready to make the jump to WWE.

Professional wrestling’s free agency is hotter than ever in 2024. In recent months, AEW has secured the likes of Will Ospreay, Kazuchika Okada, and Mercedes Mone, while Becky Lynch, Drew McIntyre, and Seth Rollins all have contracts expiring in the current months.

It’s now been reported that another popular star could be on the move.

According to SEScoops, HOOK is interested in exploring his options when his AEW deal expires later in 2024. The report also quotes someone familiar with WWE’s recruitment strategy as saying “I can see WWE clearly being interested in him.”

HOOK – son of ECW legend and AEW announcer Taz, became All Elite in 2020 but had to wait to make his in-ring debut until December 2021.

Since then the star has become one of the most popular wrestlers in the company, winning the FTW Title created by his father twice. The Cold-Hearted Handsome Devil is currently teaming up with Chris Jericho after the veteran took him under his wing.

Taz famously spent nine years working for WWE in a variety of roles. The star was initially hired as an in-ring talent before becoming a commentator when injuries took their toll.

WWE To Land Three Free Agents

The news comes after it was revealed that Giulia has signed with WWE. The former STARDOM talent was introduced to the crowd at Stand & Deliver over WrestleMania weekend. It’s believed Giulia will start with the company once her commitments elsewhere are complete.

Meanwhile, Jacob Fatu has told people close to him that he’s also signed with WWE. Fatu became a free agent in February after his contract with MLW expired. The star is the cousin of Roman Reigns, The Usos, and Solo Sikoa.

It’s been widely reported that former NJPW star Tama Tonga has also joined the sports entertainment giant.
