AEW Looking To “Re-Debut” Long-Time Absent Star

An absent AEW star could be heading back to television.

According to a new report via Fightful Select, Megan Bayne is making her way back to AEW.

Bayne has been under contract with the company for years, but after injury halted her momentum she was encouraged to take bookings elsewhere. This saw her pop up on the independent scene and impress regularly in STARDOM.

However, creative pitches are now being made to “re-debut” Bayne in the company potentially as a heel. The star hasn’t wrestled for the promotion since competing in a dark match in June 2023.

Despite not featuring on Dynamite, Collision, or Rampage, Bayne has kept busy, wrestling her most recent match at GCW Take A Picture 2024 on May 25th where she defeated Allie Katch.

Frustration Building Within AEW

While Megan Bayne appears to be closing on a return, not everything is well behind the scenes. In the Wrestling Observer Newsletter, Dave Meltzer looked back at AEW’s progress as the company nears the fifth anniversary of its first-ever pay-per-view Double or Nothing.

In his summary, Meltzer noted there’s a “lot of frustration” from some talents who make a nice living but haven’t got space to move up the card.

Despite this apparent frustration, speaking back in April Tony Khan revealed he’s looking to keep adding to the AEW roster.
