AEW Star Supports Logan Paul’s Controversial WWE Comments
Logan Paul has the support of a former AEW wrestler who previously worked for WWE.
When it comes to Logan Paul, his fans and critics can agree on one thing – the man is not lacking in confidence. Cocky is a good word to describe Paul, who has the attitude that he can be the best at anything he tries.
On a recent episode of Logan Paul’s IMPAULSIVE podcast, to promote the Fanatics Flag Football Classic, a star-studded event set to take place in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, on March 21st, future NFL Hall of Famer Tom Brady got into a heated discussion with Paul, who will be part of the event along with other celebrities and NFL players.
Brady: “I’m actually a little worried for you. You’re a good athlete… but these guys are on another level.”
Paul: “Can Saquon Barkley do a flip off the top rope?”
Responding to that, Brady called WWE stars “cute” and said football is real competition, which is obviously a shot at WWE as scripted entertainment.
“It’s cute, I love WWE. It’s very cute. But this is real football. This is real competition. These are guys who’ve been doing this their whole lives. This isn’t a gimmick.”
There was more friendly banter after that, in a clip that went viral for the trash talk between the two athletes.
Logan Paul’s NFL Criticism Supported By AEW’s Ricochet
In an interview with The Takedown on Sports Illustrated, WWE’s Logan Paul explained what happened and reiterated that NFL players couldn’t survive in the WWE.
“I was going back and forth with Tom Brady and we’re talking about athleticism and what it takes to be an athlete. And so funny, Tom Brady talking to me about being an athlete. Bro, the worst NFL Combine of all time.
Okay, you won seven Super Bowls. It’s like, seven Super Bowls, six Super Bowls, six seven Super Bowls. It doesn’t matter how many Super Bowls you won, how many United States titles have you won? How many subscribers do you have on YouTube? What’s your net worth?”
Paul went on to criticize NFL players, saying they wouldn’t succeed in WWE, even though there are many wrestlers with football backgrounds, whether in the pros, college, or high school.
“If you put any of the WWE Superstars on the roster, including the women, on an NFL team, they would do bare minimum, all right, because these people are athletes.
If you plucked 99% of NFL athletes from the team and put them in a WWE ring, they would s**t the bed. They would not be able to do it. It is the hardest thing in the world to do.”
Ricochet is AEW’s National Champion and has faced Logan Paul in WWE, so he knows Paul well. On social media, Ricochet clearly supported what Paul was saying.

Whether most sports fans would agree is another story, but at least on this topic, heel wrestlers like Paul and Ricochet are on the same page.
In the same interview, Logan Paul went on to explain why he feels WWE needed him to become a full-time superstar, which he became in early 2026 after several years as a part-time wrestler.
