AEW and Tony Khan seemingly have their sights set on this WWE legend who is currently a free agent.

Mick Foley is one of WWE’s most decorated wrestlers of all time. He has had success with multiple characters he played during the Attitude Era of the company, including Cactus Jack, Dude Love, Commissioner Foley, and Mankind.

Each of Foley’s characters had a trademark outfit, catchphrases, and behavioral tendencies that stuck with wrestling fans for years after his retirement and continue to resonate to this day.

Foley departed the WWE recently over their support of United States President Donald Trump, whom Foley has been outspoken about being against. Foley openly criticized WWE and TKO’s dealings with the current Trump administration, especially after Trump’s comments on the death of actor Rob Reiner.

He was under a WWE Legends contract, which he then planned to let expire in June this year. The contract does not prevent wrestlers from working with other promotions, which is why Foley is being eyed by WWE’s rival AEW (All Elite Wrestling).

AEW Could Be Eyeing A Deal With Mick Foley

Mick Foley has worked with every major wrestling promotion except All Elite Wrestling in the past. After the expiration of his WWE: Legends contract in June, the Tony Khan-led promotion could look at signing the Hall of Famer as soon as he hits the market.

Takedown on Si has reported that they’ve received news from multiple sources that AEW has expressed “real” interest in signing the former 3-Time WWE Champion, meaning that Foley’s direction could be AEW-bound.

Although it’s not clear whether the Jacksonville-based promotion will be signing him or bringing him over for an appearance, this news should get fans excited to see the 60-year-old in the ring in some capacity once again.

AEW is currently building towards its Double or Nothing Pay-Per-View, which will be held in Flushing, New York, close to where Foley grew up on Long Island.

At the show, another top star from Long Island, MJF (Maxwell Jacob Friedman), will be putting his hair on the line against Darby Allin for the AEW World Championship.

It remains to be seen if Mick Foley will indeed show up at Double or Nothing or a future AEW event and if a deal is going to be made between the legend and AEW.
