Current Champion Requested To Be Exclusive To AEW Collision

A current champion in AEW is perfectly fine with being exclusive to Collision, which is one of the company’s three primetime television shows.

Ever since AEW started airing Collision last month, there have been rumors about the company going with a roster split or brand extension similar to WWE where talents would generally appear either Dynamite & Rampage or the new Saturday night show Collision.

While AEW’s Owner/President Tony Khan has made it clear that there won’t be a separate roster, there certainly are some wrestlers who have been featured mostly on Collision in recent weeks like CM Punk (he did appear on Dynamite recently too), AEW Tag Team Champions FTR, Andrade El Idolo Miro and some others.

Malakai Black is one-third of the AEW Trios Tag Team Champions with the tattooed big man Brody King and Buddy Matthews.

During a recent appearance on Bobby Fish’s podcast recently, Malakai Black revealed that he requestioned to appear only on Collision.

“I requested to be strictly on Collision. Because I don’t want people to get the pick, it’s like, no, Saturday night I get to see The House of Black, that’s what I wanted. Because if I give you the option for Wednesday, Friday, and Saturday, you’re going to go, ‘It doesn’t really matter.'”

In addition to that, Malakai Black spoke about how it felt when Collision debuted on June 17th.

“That first Collision, everything felt great. The atmosphere was great. Everybody was excited, motivated, and it was just a good experience overall. It was a very, very fun day.”

While the House of Black has appeared on Collision since its debut, they have also targeted Andrade El Idolo, which could lead to a trios feud if Andrade can get some backup soon.
