Ace Steel Rehired “Months Ago” By AEW

Ace Steel

A new report would indicate that Ace Steel was brought back in to the AEW fold “months ago”, even though he hasn’t been present in person.

AEW made their big announcement earlier this week that they would be launching a third weekly television show, AEW Collision, which would begin airing on Saturday 17th June. The announcement came along with a number of confirmed stars for the brand, including the likes of Miro, Thunder Rosa, Samoa Joe and Andrade El Idolo.

However, one name was notably missing from the announcement as it had been rumored in recent weeks that he would return as part of the show, with a “hard split” between the roster for Collision and Dynamite. This led to speculation that Punk was once again at odds with AEW, making it look like a return would be moving further and further away.

It seemed that one of the contentious points surrounded Ace Steel, who had been an agent with the company. It is believed that Steel would not return to the road with the company, and Punk didn’t agree to those terms.

Now, a new report from Haus Of Wrestling claims that Ace Steel was actually re-hired by AEW “months ago”. The report also notes that Steel has been working on creative with Tony Khan and was set to return to the road as part of the team for Collision, however that plan apparently changed on Tuesday this week.

This does not seemingly stop CM Punk’s return to AEW completely, as the report also claims that Punk is “motivated, and wanting to help the company’s growth however he can”, whilst his relationship with head honcho Tony Khan is on “sound footing”.

We will keep you updated if there are any further updates on the official status of either CM Punk or Ace Steel with AEW.
