Absent WWE Star Warns Fans Supporting Him Will Get Him In Trouble
An absent WWE star has claimed that people supporting them will lead to trouble with the company.
Rusev has not been seen on Raw or SmackDown since November 21st 2025, when he lost to Jey Uso in the quarter-final of the Last Time Is Now tournament. He’s had one match on Main Event since then, but has now disappeared from WWE television completely, despite only returning to the company in May 2025.
Rusev’s time in AEW was punctuated by long absences that raised questions about how happy he was in Tony Khan’s company, and it became evident that he longed to return to WWE.
But he doesn’t want to get in trouble.
Rusev Scared Of Trouble In WWE
A video has been circulating on social media of Rusev being greeted by fans in the Scotiabank Arena ahead of Raw in Toronto, Ontario, Canada. The former US Champion looked genuinely stunned when fans with long memories began chanting “Rusev Day”, but he quickly tried to shut things down, joking that the fans would get him in trouble by chanting that.
In 2017, Rusev formed one of the unlikeliest tag teams ever with the theatrical Aiden English. English would sing Rusev’s introduction, inviting everyone to celebrate “Rusev Day,” and it caught on big time with fans. Rusev and English began receiving some of the biggest reactions on shows, and in line with other major catchphrases, fans showed their love for the pair by even chanting it when they weren’t around.
The pairing suffered from clearly being popular with fans when management didn’t necessarily plan for it to be, and so its legs were cut out from under it after only a year.
