2 Major AEW Title Matches In The Works

Tony Khan AEW

Two major AEW title matches could be in the works as a huge match is set to take place on Dynamite.

Harley Cameron and Willow Nightingale made history when they became the inaugural AEW Women’s Tag Team Champions. Cameron and Nightingale were somewhat underdogs during the tournament to find the first champions, but they managed to defeat Athena & Mercedes Mone, Sisters of Sin, and the Timeless Love Bombs on their way to the gold.

It was a big 2025 for Kris Statlander as well in AEW, as at All Out, she became the AEW Women’s World Champion for the very first time. Since then, she has successfully defended her gold against Mina Shirakawa, Toni Storm, Mercedes Mone, and Jamie Hayter. She has also put the past behind her and reunited with her old friend Willow Nightingale. Statlander was on hand to celebrate when Nightingale put Mercedes Mone away to win the TBS Title for a second time.

And now it looks like worlds might be colliding in AEW as the Triangle of Madness has been tipped to hunt down gold.

Triangle Of Madness Wants AEW Titles

Speaking on Wrestling Observer Radio, Dave Meltzer noted that an upcoming bout on Dynamite has made clear AEW’s direction for two of its titles:

It looks like from Collision, they’re building up a tag team with Skye Blue and Julia Hart, challenging Willow and Harley Cameron. Then, as a single, Kris Statlander and Thekla. They’ve been kind of building Kris Statlander and Thekla for months. I thought they were gonna do that at the last pay-per-view, but they went with Jamie Hayter. I don’t know if they’re necessarily pay-per-view matches because it’s not until mid-March, but I think those are matches that will come out of the six-woman tag match.

Dynamite Maximum Carnage on January 14th will see the Triangle of Madness face Willow Nightingale, Harley Cameron, and Kris Statlander in a trios match.
