Report: Paige Will No Longer Wrestle For WWE Due To Injury

The in-ring career of WWE superstar Paige appears to be over, according to a report from PWInsider’s Mike Johnson. Paige has been told by WWE’s doctors that she will no longer be allowed to wrestle in a WWE ring due to injury. The report from Johnson notes that she was likely given the news at last Monday’s Raw and PWInsider confirmed their report with multiple sources. Paige is 25 years old.

The injury is to her neck and it’s a situation similar to what Edge went through in 2011 when he was told he couldn’t wrestle anymore after WrestleMania 27. The news means that Paige is done with WWE as a wrestler although she still works for the company.

Paige missed over a year of action due to a major neck injury that required surgery in October 2016. She returned a few months ago leading the Absolution group with Mandy Rose and Sonya Deville by her side. Paige was also announced as an entrant in the Royal Rumble, but that’s not going to happen now.

A few weeks ago during a tag match at a live event, Sasha Banks kicked her in the back and Paige collapsed on the mat. Paige had trouble getting back to her feet and the match was stopped. It was the last time Paige wrestled.

I’m sure there are some people that might blame Banks for it, but I don’t think that’s fair. I don’t know if Paige feels that way. It’s a wrestling match and things happen.
