Drew McIntyre revealed in an interview with ESPN that he has officially signed with NXT. McIntyre spoke with ESPN moments after he made a surprise appearance at ringside during tonight’s NXT Takeover: Orlando.
The following are McIntyre’s comments about signing with NXT.
“Well the answer’s pretty simple. I’ve won championships all across the world, I’ve helped build brands. So what’s the next logical thing for me to do? It’s to come here and win the NXT title.
“If that’s not clear enough for everybody, Drew McIntyre has signed with NXT.”
McIntyre was released from his WWE contract three years ago. His last stint in WWE was as a member of the Heath Slater led faction, 3MB. After McIntyre was released from WWE, he rebuilt himself as Drew Galloway in TNA as well as the independent scene, and improved in virtually every aspect. He announced his departure from TNA this past February and ever since then the rumors of his return to WWE have been floating around; now it’s been made official.
