A WWE superstar made it known to her boss that she wanted to be a part of the Clash at the Castle PLE in Scotland.

The WWE Clash at the Castle PLE takes place this Saturday, June 15th in front of what should be a vocal crowd in Glasgow, Scotland. It’s a card headlined by Scotland’s own Drew McIntyre challenging Damian Priest for the World Heavyweight Title while Cody Rhodes defends the WWE Title against AJ Styles in an “I Quit” Match.

There are also two women’s matches on the Clash card with ties to Scotland. Jade Cargill & Bianca Belair will defend the Women’s Tag Team Titles against Shayna Baszler & Zoey Stark and the Unholy Alliance team of Isla Dawn & Isla Dawn returning to their home country with the chance to become champions.

Piper Niven is also back home in Scotland as she challenges Bayley for the WWE Women’s Championship at Clash at the Castle.

During an interview with Denise Salcedo of Instinct Culture, Niven revealed she spoke to WWE’s Chief Content Officer Paul “Triple H” Levesque about her desire to be on the Clash PLE, which was something Triple H was aware of.

“I knew Clash at the Castle was happening, but I didn’t hear anything, no whispers on any matches or anything like that, and I was like, ‘I need to be on that card’.

“And honestly, I jazzed myself up for weeks, you can ask Chelsea (Green) – Chelsea’s my hype woman on-screen and off-screen, she helps build my confidence because sometimes I’m not the most confident.

“She was backstage with me, and I was like, ‘Okay I think today’s the day, I think I’m gonna ask’. She’s like, ‘Yeah you’ve got this, go on, ask him, you should be on that show’.

“I was like, ‘Okay, cool, cool, cool’. And I walked up to Triple H and I went, ‘I’m here to shoot my shot’, and he just went, ‘Let me guess, it’s about Clash’, and I went, ‘Yeah’. And he went, ‘We’re working on it’.

“I was like, ‘Oh this went well, okay great, thanks’. I had a monologue prepared, like, ‘I deserve this because X, Y, Z’, and it was just, ‘Yeah we’re working on it’.”

Over the last month of WWE television, Niven attacked Bayley multiple times and proved to be a worthy challenger, so the match was made official. As Triple H said, they were working on it and it happened.

How Many Titles Has Piper Niven Won In WWE?

At WWE Clash at the Castle, Piper Niven will be trying to win the Women’s Championship for the first time. Niven has previously held the Women’s Tag Team Titles with Chelsea Green and also was a two-time 24/7 Champion.

When Niven debuted on the WWE main roster in June 2021, she was named “Doudrop.” However, that name went away and she became Piper Niven again in January 2023.
