Tony Khan Hints At New AEW Authority Figure

Tony Khan AEW

Tony Khan has commented on AEW’s impending power struggle.

The April 24th edition of AEW Dynamite ended in pure chaos with Tony Khan lying broken in the ring after an attack by The Elite.

It had appeared as though Khan and Jack Perry had gotten themselves on the same page, but ‘The Scapegoat’ punched his boss, before The Young Bucks hit him with a TK-Driver.

On the following episode of Collision, Tony Schiavone noted that Khan had suffered “multiple head and neck injuries” and would be running the company remotely.

In a new interview with TV Insider, Tony Khan addressed the situation.

“We all have experience working outside the office. During the lockdown, we got used to meetings on Teams and Zoom. I’ll still be overseeing AEW and managing the show remotely. As for who will be the highest-ranking official onsite, stay tuned Wednesday. It will certainly be addressed this week on TBS. This power struggle that is happening in AEW,”

Interestingly, Kenny Omega has been confirmed for Dynamite in Winnipeg, and fans have wondered whether he could feature in some kind of authority role before eventually returning to the ring.

Tony Khan Claims Goldberg Wanted To Join AEW

During a different interview, Tony Khan laughed off criticism from Goldberg, claiming the WWE Hall of Famer had shown significant interest in joining AEW.

Goldberg had recently claimed there was “no chance” he’d join AEW, calling the company “cheesy.” Although, he did admit to speaking to the promotion in the past.

The WCW legend hasn’t wrestled since being defeated by Roman Reigns at Elimination Chamber in 2022.
