WWE Universal Championship and Raw Women’s Championship Matches Added to Hell in a Cell on Sept. 16

The next WWE pay-per-view event is called Hell in a Cell on September 16 in San Antonio, Texas. This week on Raw, we found out there will be two huge title matches at the show.

During Raw’s opening segment, the Universal Champion Roman Reigns called out Braun Strowman, who had the Money in the Bank briefcase/contract with him. Strowman said that he wasn’t going to do some cheap attack to become the champion and instead challenged Reigns to a match at Hell in a Cell in a Hell in a Cell match, which is a match they have never had together. These two have wrestled a lot in all kinds of different matches, so it was smart for Strowman to mention they have not had this kind of match before. Later on Raw, Strowman was shown handing the briefcase/contract to acting GM Baron Corbin to officially announce the match.

Another Hell in a Cell match is Ronda Rousey defending the Raw Women’s Championship against Alexa Bliss in a match where Bliss gets her rematch as the former champion. Bliss set that up on Raw and said she’d get her title back although I doubt many people believe that.

Will Reigns or Rousey lose their newly won titles? I doubt it, but anything is possible in today’s WWE.

Here’s the official lineup so far.

Universal Championship Hell in a Cell Match: Roman Reigns (c) vs. Braun Strowman

WWE Championship: AJ Styles (c) vs. Samoa Joe

Daniel Bryan and Brie Bella vs. The Miz and Maryse

Raw Women’s Championship: Ronda Rousey (c) vs. Alexa Bliss

There will probably be more matches announced on Smackdown this week and in the next 19 days leading up to Hell in a Cell on September 16.
