Unexpected WWE WrestleMania 42 Match Teased On AAA
AAA Worldwide’s Rey De Reyes saw a segment that may have built up a possible WrestleMania 42 match.
Rey De Reyes saw El Hijo del Vikingo challenge Dominik Mysterio in a No-Disqualification Match for the latter’s AAA Mega Championship.
The chaotic match saw interferences from the Nigerian Giant Omos, favoring El Hijo, and later Mini Vikingo in favor of Dirty Dom.
Mini Vikingo’s interference cost El Hijo del Vikingo the match as Mysterio pinned him to retain his championship.
Penta, who won the WWE Intercontinental Title from Dominik Mysterio a week prior on Raw, was also in attendance and kicked off the show with a promo where he reintroduced the Rey De Reyes Tournament.
El Hijo Del Vikingo Could Face Penta For The WWE Intercontinental Championship At WrestleMania 42
Following El Hijo’s loss, the El Ojo faction, comprising Omos, El Hijo del Vikingo, and Dorian Roldan, gathered backstage to talk.
Roldan was seen giving El Hijo a pep talk, telling him to take his focus away from Mini Vikingo, who cost El Hijo the title match win, and instead asked him to focus on Penta for a possible shot at the luchador’s Intercontinental Title at WWE WrestleMania 42. The clip was shared by Lucha Libre AAA Worldwide’s official X account.
Mini Vikingo, Mini Vikingo’ – let it go. This isn’t your style. You’re destined to do bigger things.
Imagine this… WrestleMania weekend, ok? Intercontinental Champion.
You are El Hijo Del Vikingo, understand that. You were born to do big things. You were born to be the greatest luchador in Mexico. We cannot be wasting time.
Today, you have the biggest opportunity to go out there and challenge Penta.”
I have trust in you. Trust that we will do big things. Trust in El Ojo.
