“I Would’ve Fired His A** Before WrestleMania” – WWE Veteran Blasts Triple H
Triple H is taking fire from an industry veteran for his recent comments about WWE’s talent pool.
In the lead-up to WrestleMania 42, the promotion’s Chief Content Officer appeared for an interview with Joe Tessitore on The Road to WrestleMania: WrestleMania 42 Countdown.
The build-up to The Show of Shows faced its share of hiccups, which saw wrestlers get injured, or high-profile matches get changed or canceled altogether.
Furthermore, week after week, the fans’ response to creative direction had been growing increasingly negative. Just when the Stamford promotion needed a statement that showed the WWE in a positive light, Triple H said something that shocked a lot of fans.
During the interview, the head of the creative team claimed that he had no backups for top-level talents, providing a professional sports analogy to share his idea.
If you lose your quarterback… If you lose your star center or star guard in the NBA, you have a second string guy to back him up, and you hope those second string guys are pretty good.
There is no backup Cody Rhodes. There is no backup Randy Orton. There’s no backup Roman Reigns. There’s no backup CM Punk… it’s different because it’s the individual attraction. [H/T: Wrestling Inc.]
Vince Russo Blasts WWE Boss Triple H
Vince Russo has claimed that listening to Triple H talking about not having backups to certain talent was unprecedented.
Earlier, while speaking on his podcast, he called the WWE CCO ‘an idiot,’ a sentiment he carried during the recent episode of the Coach & Bro Show.
Russo also stated that Triple H’s failure to find ideal replacements was his fault, stating that he if it were up to him, he would have fired him.
During the conversation, he and Jonathan Coachman also touched upon the texts between the company’s higher-ups, revealed during a court date recently, which showed prevailing tensions between Hunter and Ari Emanuel.
He’s sitting there and he’s saying they have no backups? I would have fired his a** before WrestleMania. And then he’s saying, “This isn’t the NFL. If an offensive lineman gets hurt, they”…bro, that’s on you!! That is 100% on you.
And for him to say there are no backups who’s supposed to be developing these backups? If I’m reading those comments and I’m his boss, brother, you’re out of here. You’re responsible for the backups.
