Speaking on a recent episode of the Grilling JR podcast, veteran wrestling announcer Jim Ross revealed that when he learned about HHH and Stephanie McMahon’s romance from Vince McMahon, it led to a shocking decision behind the scenes.
Ross, who was the Executive Vice President of Talent Relations at the time, stated that WWE ultimately chose not to renew Chyna’s contract, explaining that re-signing her was viewed as “too big of a risk” for the company.
From Vince. Because he knew I had to prepare for some level of backlash. And it helped me get a little in front of the issue and not be chasing it. Because we all knew who was going to be the biggest… the biggest name was Chyna… was going to be distraught and didn’t know how bad, but it was pretty damn bad.
