One WWE star has shared an emotional message after one of the biggest upsets in recent Raw history.

Upsets have been a huge part of Raw ever since The Kid shocked the world when he defeated Razor Ramon in 1993. More recently, the red brand saw another massive upset when Maxxine Dupri dethroned Becky Lynch as WWE Women’s Intercontinental Champion in Madison Square Garden.

On the January 26th edition of Raw, a four-way match took place to find the new number one contenders for the World Tag Team Championship, currently held by The Usos.

The New Day, The Creeds, Los Americanos and Alpha Academy did battle, and incredibly, it was Akira Tozawa who picked up the victory for himself and Otis. This marked Alpha Academy’s first victory on Raw since November 2024.

Akira Tozawa Vows To Win WWE Gold

Following the win, Tozawa shared an emotional message on social media where he vowed to do the unthinkable and win the gold:

It’s been about 10 years since I came to WWE. To be honest, I haven’t left the results people expected, and sometimes I get laughed at like, “You’re still in WWE?” But I love professional wrestling. I love WWE. That’s why no matter what people said, I kept going. And now… it’s time. It’s time to finally make it happen. Otis, thank you for being my partner. Maxxine, thank you for always supporting us. We will become champions. I promise you that. I love you all.
