WWE Star Confirms Painful Reason Led To Time Off

WWE stars take time off television programming for a plethora of reasons. More often than not, it’s injury or surgery.

The superstar in question in this article is Jacob Fatu.

He took time off WWE TV mid-October 2025 and returned to the program in January 2026. He interrupted Drew McIntyre vs. Cody Rhodes in the final steel cage match in the Three Stages of Hell match. The Scottish Warrior escaped the cage when The Samoan Werewolf attacked The American Nightmare and secured the Undisputed WWE Championship.

On Busted Open Radio, The Samoan Werewolf revealed that he had 11 teeth pulled out. Furthermore, he revealed that while healing, he realized he had to get back in the ring or else the phone was going to stop ringing.

It was being home. It was being home on the couch, 11 teeth I was supposed to get 12 teeth, but I got 11 teeth pulled out in the back.

I remember my Uncle Rikishi saying this, ‘You been out of sight out of mind, that phone’s gonna stop ringing. That phone stopped ringing, nothing with my family or anything. But I’ve seen it with my family you get calls, calls, calls. But just sitting there looking at my kids walking by, them going to school, them coming back and still seeing me on the couch. Then I had to regroup.

Fatu was written off WWE TV after showing a backstage assault.
