5 WWE Records Smashed During 2023 Women’s Royal Rumble

The 2023 women’s Royal Rumble was a record-breaking event, with as many as five WWE records toppled during the over-the-top-rope battle.

Rhea Ripley is on her way to the main event of WrestleMania with a number of milestones under her wing.

After being on the receiving end of a Beth Phoenix spear earlier in the night, the challenge of winning became even more difficult as first to enter the sixth edition of the match.

Ripley, who suffered an injury during the event, was followed by entrant number two Liv Morgan, with both competitors lasting until the very end, becoming the joint iron women of not only 2023, but of all time, clocking up 1 hour, 1 minute and 3 seconds by the time Morgan’s feet his the floor.

This beat the record held by Bianca Belair, who survived just under 57 minutes of action in last year’s Rumble.

But Mami did not just survive, Ripley, eliminated seven other competitors, taking her overall Rumble eliminations to twenty, bringing home another record, pushing Charlotte Flair’s fifteen to second place.

By winning the Women’s Royal Rumble, Ripley also became the first woman to win as the number one entrant. Matching the achievements of Shawn Michaels and Edge from the Men’s side.

The former WWE Raw and NXT Women’s Champion now has the chance to take more than a record off either Belair or Charlotte at the showcase of the immortals.

Liv Morgan may have lost out at the very end, but takes home two records. Along with becoming joint iron woman, Morgan joined fellow 2023 entrants Dana Brooke, Tamina, and the returning Natalya in their fourth women’s Royal Rumble match.

Missing out on a guaranteed Title match at WrestleMania might take some time to heal, but at least Morgan no longer has the record for the shortest time spent in the match as Chelsea Green’s comeback to WWE ended after just five seconds!
