Randy Orton is now a respected veteran and mentor in WWE, but during the early days of his career he was known for having a toxic attitude.

Orton became the youngest World Heavyweight Champion in WWE history, and within just a few years of joining the company, he had already become a major star. However, he later admitted that the early success went to his head and that he struggled with immaturity and anger management issues at the time.

During a recent episode of the Coach and Bro Show, Jonathan Coachman and Vince Russo answered some fan questions. One fan asked which wrestlers were considered toxic in the locker room during the time they worked in WWE.

Ex-WWE star Coachman responded that Randy Orton had a toxic attitude when he was around 21 years old, adding that the young star was simply “living his best life” during that period.

I would say Randy because Randy’s also gotten a lot better, too. I was there for 21-year-old Randy. He was living his best life and everybody else’s worst. Yeah. Uh, but he’s also admitted it as well. (From 1:12:55)

Randy Orton Will Face Cody Rhodes At WrestleMania 42

Despite his past behavior, Orton has come a long way from his immature and arrogant persona. Recently, he won the WWE Elimination Chamber in February and was originally set to challenge Drew McIntyre for the WWE Championship at WrestleMania 42.

However, McIntyre lost the title to Cody Rhodes on the March 6 episode of WWE SmackDown. As a result, Randy Orton is now set to challenge Cody Rhodes for the championship heading into WrestleMania 42.

Ahead of this week’s SmackDown, Orton also put his WrestleMania 42 opponent, Cody Rhodes, on notice. This week’s SmackDown episode will take place at PHX Arena in Phoenix.
