The major change in 2023 in WWE sees the company part of a deal to be taken over by Endeavor but back in 2022, the big changes were on NXT when the NXT UK strand was shut down.

With the demise of NXT UK, all of the brand’s titles were unified with their NXT counterparts at Worlds Collide in September. Pretty Deadly unified the tag team titles while Mandy Rose defeated Meiko Satomura to unify the two brand’s women’s titles. Bron Breakker defeated Tyler Bate in the show’s main event to unify the NXT and NXT UK Titles but one NXT UK prize escaped being scrapped and it has returned with Noam Dar.

Noam Dar has held the NXT UK Heritage Cup since defeating Mark Coffey for the trophy in August 2022, just weeks before the brand came to an end. Dar was back in action for the first time on WWE television since that match on the 18th of April edition of NXT where he defeated Myles Borne. Dar had his trophy with him on the show and it looks like it is being retained as it has officially been renamed as the NXT Heritage Cup.

Noam Dar has previously been seen in a video package on NXT television where he explained the rules of the Heritage Cup which is defended in matches that are split into six three-minute rounds and the winner is the first to pick up two falls.
