WWE NXT Sees New Challengers Emerge For Joe Hendry’s Championship
WWE NXT was off to a fiery start tonight as the night began with a triple threat match for the Women’s Championship as Sol Ruca and Zaria took on Jacy Jayne.
The current Women’s Champion was able to escape the match with her title after sneaking up a pin on Sol Ruca, after she was taken out of the match with a Sol Snatcher.
On the men’s side of things, it didn’s look any better for the NXT World Champion, Joe Hendry. He recently defended his title against Ricky Saints, but the challenger came up a little short.
Tony D’Angelo stands tall on WWE NXT
Ricky Saints came out to the ring and started speaking about how he deserves to becoma two-time NXT Champion and Ethan Page, a two-time North American Champion.
It seemed like the two wrestlers were about to throw hands with one another, but they attacked Joe Hendry. The NXT Champion somehow got back into the fight and stood tall, but merely for a second.
He was then taken out by a surprise spear from Tony D’Angelo, before he hit a one-handed Spinebuster on both Saints and Page. He made it extremely clear that he will go after the top prize, as announced last week.
