WWE Star Undergoes Surprising Name Change Ahead Of PLE Match
A rising star on the WWE NXT brand has a new name.
Eli Knight was announced as WWE’s ID prospect in October 2025, and in early 2026, he was quickly moved to the NXT brand. NXT announcer Booker T is a huge supporter of Knight since Knight trained at Booker’s Reality Of Wrestling promotion early in his career.
In recent times, Knight was a challenger for the WWE Speed Title, but ultimately failed ot win the title from Jasper Troy. Instead, Knight’s friend Elio LeFleur won the WWE Speed Title. Unfortunately for LeFleur, he suffered a shoulder injury and will vacate the title, so Knight could go after the Speed Title.
If Knight does go after the WWE Speed Title, he’ll do so with a new name. That’s because Eli Knight is now EK Prosper in WWE, as seen on the company’s website.
“Look up: You just might see EK Prosper taking to the skies.
After dazzling in Evolve, Prosper got the call to showcase his skills on NXT where he uses his amazing agility and pulse-pounding offense to bring the fans to their feet.
One of the brightest futures in all of WWE belongs to Prosper, and it’s only a matter of time before he’s winning gold and stealing the show every single week.”
Wrestlevotes Radio on Fightful Select reports that WWE officials felt Eli Knight was too similar to “LA Knight,” given that LA Knight also uses the “Knight” name and previously went by Eli Drake in TNA and elsewhere.
