Major WWE Champion Had Influence In Danhausen Signing
Danhausen made his WWE debut at WWE Elimination Chamber 2026 in Chicago. According to reports, his AEW contract expired on February 28, and he made his debut for WWE on the very same day.
For several weeks before the event, WWE had been teasing a mysterious crate on television. During the Elimination Chamber show, Raw General Manager Adam Pearce and SmackDown General Manager Nick Aldis opened the crate, which revealed a coffin inside.
Very Nice, Very Evil then emerged from the coffin and handed commentator Michael Cole a jar of human teeth before the arena lights went out, and he mysteriously vanished.
For those who don’t know, Danhausen is close friends with CM Punk. The two developed a strong friendship during their time in AEW, and they remained close even after Punk left the promotion to return to WWE.
CM Punk Significantly Influenced WWE’s Decision To Sign Danhausen
CM Punk was a key figure in WWE’s decision to sign Danhausen, as per the Wrestling Observer Newsletter. Punk reportedly pushed for the company to bring his longtime friend into the promotion.
The ex-AEW star later made his Raw debut on the March 2 episode of WWE Raw, where he confronted Adam Pearce with a list of demands. Members of The Judgment Day interrupted the segment, and Dominik Mysterio mocked him.
In response, he cursed Mysterio, who later lost the WWE Intercontinental Championship to Penta later that same night.
The 35-year-old star also appeared on the March 6 episode of WWE SmackDown. During the show, he again presented a list of demands, this time to Nick Aldis. The segment also featured a backstage interaction with The Miz, where he jokingly threatened to place a curse on him as well.
Danhausen is now confirmed to appear on the upcoming episode of Raw, which will take place at Climate Pledge Arena in Seattle.
