Fans of WWE’s outside of North American can expect yet another big show to take place on foreign soil.

The past twelve months has seen a noticeable growth in WWE showcasing major events outside of the United States and Canada. For many years the only major international destinations WWE had any interest in were Saudi Arabia and Australia.

However, WWE’s recent successes appear to have changed minds at the top of the company. Clash at the Castle in Wales was an enormous success and Backlash 2023, which emanated from Puerto Rico, included one of the hottest and most passionate crowds in recent history.

Given the huge demand for live content abroad, the company has decided to return to another major market: India.

According to Nick Khan, WWE will be returning to India sometime in September 2023. This was in response to an earlier proposal to have a major event in Hyderabad in January but those plans never came to fruition.

Khan spoke at a conference earlier and said the decision to come to India was based on the claim that wrestling is the second most popular sport in the country behind cricket.

As of this writing, it was not noted whether this would be a PLE or if it would be broadcast on Peacock or the Network.
