WWE Hall Of Famer Confirms AEW Return At Double Or Nothing 2026: “I’m Gonna Be There”
This WWE legend, who currently works with AEW, is set to return at its Double or Nothing Event.
Jim Ross (JR) is one of the most recognised voices in the history of pro-wrestling.
JR had a tremendous run in WWE between 1993 and 2013, where he served as a color commentator for the company’s weekly shows and pay-per-views (now named PLEs).
His play-by-play commentary style and distinct voice are some of the most recognised in sports entertainment and beyond.
JR returned to WWE briefly between 2017 and 2019 after stints with NJPW and the indies during his time away. In 2019, he parted ways with the Stamford-based company to join its rival AEW (All Elite Wrestling), where he has been working as a color commentator since.
Ross is 74 years old and has had his fair share of health problems. He has not appeared in commentary on AEW since its All In event, where he served as a commentator on the final two matches. This was in July 2025, and before this, he was on a 10-month break due to illness.
WWE Legend Jim Ross Confirms He Is Available For AEW Double Or Nothing
Ross spoke about the condition of his health on his Grilling JR podcast and had some good news to share.
He revealed that he recently went in for a major physical and shared the results, saying other than a little concern with his kidneys, which the doctors believe is due to his current medication, he got the best numbers he’s received in years.
He said that Tony Khan doesn’t even know of his availability yet.
I’m gonna be there. Gonna do some work. Don’t know exactly what yet, but whatever Tony Khan says, I’ll run the play. He’s so good to me in that respect. I don’t think he knows, as we speak, that I’m going to be available in Queens. We don’t talk about it. He’s got more on his plate than to worry about JR’s health.
JR went on to say that he hopes to call the “I Quit” match between FTR (Dax Harwood & Cash Wheeler) against Adam Copeland & Christian Cage at the event.
