Huge WWE Championship May Switch Hands Before WrestleMania
WrestleMania is just around the corner, and a WWE analyst believes a major WWE Championship could switch hands before WWE’s biggest premium live event of the year.
Speaking on his Notsam Wrestling emergency podcast, WWE analyst Sam Roberts stated that Drew McIntyre could lose the Undisputed WWE Championship to Cody Rhodes on SmackDown this week.
SmackDown General Manager Nick Aldis officially made the match following Elimination Chamber, after Drew McIntyre interfered in the Men’s Elimination Chamber match and cost Cody Rhodes a title opportunity.
I think there is a world where Cody wins the championship. Cody wins the title back on SmackDown. Drew’s title reign will have lasted, you know, two months, which again, I mean, these rules where title reigns have to be a year long. I don’t think that’s accurate, but Drew holds the title for two months, Cody wins it, you go to WrestleMania with Drew versus Jacob, and you go to WrestleMania with Cody Rhodes versus Randy Orton.
Drew McIntyre Could Lose His Title On WWE SmackDown Because Of Jacob Fatu’s Interference
Sam Roberts added that Jacob Fatu could play a major role in Drew McIntyre losing the championship on SmackDown. This could then spark a feud between Drew McIntyre and Jacob Fatu, potentially leading to a singles match at WrestleMania, while Cody Rhodes and Randy Orton battle for the title at the event.
And the fact that you’re doing it on SmackDown on Friday. If you get Jacob involved, it’s how you get Drew out of looking for revenge against Cody. If you get Jacob involved, then before Drew goes after the title again, Drew is going to go after Jacob. So, it makes sense for WrestleMania. (From 8:33)
