WWE Champion Dean Ambrose vs. Seth Rollins vs. Roman Reigns at Battleground July 24

The main event of WWE Battleground on July 24 is set. It’s going to be the new WWE World Heavyweight Champion Dean Ambrose defending the gold in a triple threat match against his former Shield allies Roman Reigns and Seth Rollins in a triple threat match. The match was made official at the end of this week’s Raw.

They set up the match by having Reigns face Rollins to see who will challenge Ambrose for the title. As soon as it was announced, it was pretty obvious that it would lead to a triple threat match. The Reigns/Rollins match ended in a double countout. Ambrose wasn’t upset about having to defend the gold against both guys and even suggested it before Shane made it official.

TJR Thoughts: Am I surprised that Shield triple threat is happening at Battleground? Yeah sure, but I’m not going to complain about good matches. The company wants to put on the best shows possible. If they have that match plus Cena vs. Styles plus Owens vs. Zayn then it’s potentially another show with three top matches that will be awesome.
