WWE Boss Who Really Brought Back Brie Bella & It’s Not Triple H
Brie Bella kept hearing no from WWE until a phone call from Nick Khan changed everything.
Brie Bella made her shocking return to WWE at the Royal Rumble, where she joined her sister Nikki in the women’s Rumble match. Brie had previously indicated that her husband’s – Bryan Danielson – role in AEW made things difficult regarding a WWE comeback, but whatever the issues were, they’ve been smoothed over, and it’s not Triple H getting the credit.
Nick Khan Credited With Brie Bella’s WWE Return
Speaking on Notsam Wrestling Live!, Brie Bella explained that she kept hearing no from WWE when it came to a comeback, but that changed when company president Nick Khan intervened:
I’ve been wanting to come back. I would joke about it a lot, but yeah, I kept hearing no, and so when it came Thanksgiving time, I was like, ‘Alright, I’m not going back,’ and so, I kind of just started to look at 2026 differently.
I had a couple other opportunities that were put on the table, so I started to engage in those, and then Nick Khan all of a sudden called me, and I wasn’t expecting it, and just really wanted me back. I was very shocked, and I was like, ‘Alright….’ And I’m grateful to Nick for bringing me back because I definitely thought the door was closed, and I’m happy that it reopened. (h/t Fightful)
Nick Khan was also credited for intervening to bring R-Truth back into the fold after it was revealed WWE was letting his contract expire in the summer of 2025.
