WWE: Booker T Comments On Wrestlers Not Wanting the “Soft” Label

TJR Wrestling

Booker T recently hosted another episode of Heated Conversations (transcription by WrestlingINC) and discussed the unfortunate second injury of Finn Balor (a concussion against Jinder Mahal) since getting called up to the WWE main roster, offering the opinion:

“You don’t want to get labeled in this business as being injury prone. Do you know what I mean? ‘This guy, he’s soft!’ Do you know what I mean? You don’t want to get that label. I wasn’t saying [Bálor] specifically, I’m just saying you don’t want that label in this business as far as being soft, a guy that can’t carry the load, a guy that’s not going to be in for the long haul. That’s what this business is about. And it’s about going out there and being able to weather the storm.”

Rob’s Hot-Take:

What Booker T says necessarily isn’t wrong, as for whether it is bad luck or not, in the eyes of Vince McMahon a superstar consistently getting injured isn’t good for business. With that said, there is a ton of money to be made from Finn Balor merchandise so I think he is fine for now. It was also nice seeing him get a squash victory on Monday Night Raw to at least attempt to keep him in the spotlight.
