Undisputed WWE Champion Cody Rhodes Called A “Polarizing Figure” By Ex-Rival

A popular star has made an interesting comment on WWE’s Cody Rhodes.

The American Nightmare is having a fruitful run as the Undisputed WWE Champion in the sports entertainment juggernaut. His latest title defence was against Gunther at Clash in Italy.

AEW star Eddie Kingston recently made an appearance during a Highspots Sign-It-Live session. He shared his opinion on Cody Rhodes, calling him a “polarizing figure.” Kingston also recalled how he was signed to All Elite Wrestling following his match against Rhodes on Dynamite in July 2020.

“He’s such a polarizing figure, you know what I mean? And I just know him as the dude that I fought to get my job.” [H/T: Fightful]

While speaking with Grave Conversations, Cody Rhodes opened up about his favorite DC graphic novel before stating he desires to have a pro-wrestling-centric funeral.

Rhodes added that he wants to go out as a superhero and be buried in his “American Nightmare” robe.

“I don’t know if you ever read this graphic novel, I consider it my favorite DC graphic novel of all time, a book called Identity Crisis. Identity Crisis has one of the greatest funeral scenes of all time, because all of them showed up in gimmick. Full gear. When my time comes, I want the wrestling world in full gimmick.”

“Bury me in the American Nightmare Sandra Grey robe, bury me as I was. I spent so much time giving back to pro wrestling and taking from pro wrestling that I got to play a superhero, and I’d like to go out a superhero.”

Cody Rhodes is only 40-years-old and has a lot of time left with WWE. He is set to defend his gold against Gunther on tonight’s SmackDown, with Sami Zayn as the special guest referee.

Could there be a title change in the sports entertainment juggernaut? Only time will tell.
