Triple H’s WWE Creative Work Slammed By Veteran
Triple H’s ways of working have come under the radar of a former WWE writer.
Triple H is the Chief Content Officer and plays a huge role in the storylines that progress every week on WWE. While many think that he has taken the reins well, former WWE employee Vince Russo thinks otherwise.
Vince Russo was speaking on The Brand podcast and claimed that WWE has lacked strong leadership since Vince McMahon’s exit. He criticized Triple H’s management, saying the product has declined in quality and accountability. Russo believes Triple H doesn’t fully understand what it takes to effectively run the company at the highest level.
“Vince McMahon is not there anymore. You don’t have a captain of the ship. You don’t have anybody there keeping people in line and watching over people, and demanding excellence from people. And I’m just watching a show that, to me, consists of people that don’t know what they’re doing. At the top of that list being Triple H. I don’t think this guy knows what he’s doing.”
Vince Russo Shared An Example Of Triple H’s Work
On the same show, Vince Russo cited Becky Lynch’s character arc as an example of WWE’s creative flaws under Triple H. He noted that despite her transition from a beloved babyface to a heel, Lynch’s popular sing-along entrance theme remained unchanged.
“First of all, bro, Becky [Lynch] is a heel now… So, what’s the first thing? First thing is you hear Becky’s music that was developed when Becky was a babyface. So here comes Becky [hums her theme music], so here she comes out of the gate with a babyface feel… They [WWE] didn’t change the entrance. She’s the heel with the same music, and everybody is programmed to sing along.”
According to Russo, this kind of inconsistency highlights a lack of attention to detail. He believes such nuances are crucial to effective storytelling, something he feels Triple H may not fully understand in his leadership role.
