Triple H has been urged to turn a top WWE superstar heel at WrestleMania 42.

The Showcase of the Immortals comes this year from Allegiant Stadium in Las Vegas, Nevada, after the Stamford promotion decided to run it back following last year’s success at the same venue.

One of the matches on the card is the Undisputed WWE Championship match between babyfaces Cody Rhodes and Randy Orton.

Earlier, Orton was scheduled to face then-Champion Drew McIntyre. However, The Scottish Warrior was forced to defend his title on the March 6 taping of SmackDown against Rhodes, which he lost.

The video of Cody Rhodes’ victory uploaded on the company’s YouTube page received hundreds of thousands of dislikes, becoming the company’s most hated video.

Elsewhere, former creative writer Vince Russo urged Triple H and WWE to turn The American Nightmare heel at WrestleMania, believing that the 40-year-old can no longer continue as a babyface.

I hope not. I think they need to do the Austin-Bret Hart match [WrestleMania 13] and make sure they switch Cody [Rhodes] heel during that match. I can’t imagine Cody coming out of the match as a babyface. I can’t. Where do you go with that? Where do you go? [H/T: Sportskeeda]

Triple H & WWE Hesitating To Turn Cody Rhodes Heel

Since returning to the Stamford promotion in 2022, Cody Rhodes has become one of the top stars in the company.

He is not only one of the faces of the promotion, but his popularity has also improved merch sales. Several reports have claimed that Triple H and WWE are hesitant about turning Rhodes heel due to the fear of the merch numbers dropping.

During his first run in the company, Rhodes has been a heel, competing as a singles wrestler as well as part of the Legacy faction alongside Ted DiBiase Jr. and Randy Orton.
