Triple H’s Current Role In WWE Explained

Triple H on the mic

A new update has been given on what role Triple H currently holds within WWE.

Following serious health issues, Triple H reportedly made the trip to the WWE Performance Center in Orlando, Florida, making a statement to talent that he was back. Although that is said to be the exact wording used, it didn’t provide clarity in what the former World Champion would be doing.

Although many have speculated that this would involve ‘The Game’ returning to the helm of NXT, it would seem that is not the case.

According to a new report from Dave Meltzer in his Wrestling Observer Newsletter, Triple H’s return to the company has so far only been in the office, and he has not been involved in the running of the former black and gold brand. That is still under the control of Shawn Michaels, who is working alongside a small team of writing staff.

It appears that when Paul Levesque was talking to the folks at NXT and said he was back, and nobody knew what that meant, it appeared just to mean he’s back working in the office. He has not been doing anything direct with NXT, which is still being run by Shawn Michaels with a small creative staff for television. Levesque has not been at the Tuesday night tapings.

Triple H was Executive Producer for NXT from its creation in 2010, all the way through to September 2021. During this time he was credited by many talents as having a huge influence on their development within the company.

It was at this point Triple H suffered a “serious cardiac event” which not only took him away from his role with NXT, but also forced him to call time on his in-ring career. He officially hung up his boots at the opening of night two of WrestleMania 38.
