Triple H Agreed To Undisputed WWE Championship Change For One Reason
Triple H agreed to crown Dew McIntyre the new Undisputed WWE Champion ahead of the Royal Rumble and WrestleMania season.
While fans wanted The Scotsman to become the champion, having McIntyre dethrone Rhodes wasn’t something that the WWE Universe thought could happen.
However, there is more than one reason why WWE’s CCO agreed to this change.
Triple H wanted to avoid fan fatigue at WrestleMania 42
First, both Cody Rhodes and Drew McIntyre had pitched for the title to change hands. However, they had pitched it for their match at Wrestlepalooza as well, but The Game did not make the change then. He finally agreed to WWE SmackDown, that too, not a clean win, but via interference.
Additionally, Triple H reportedly scrapped Roman Reigns vs. Cody Rhodes for WrestleMania 42. This is the foundation of why the Undisputed WWE Championship changed hands. The Cerebral Assassin wants to avoid fan fatigue over a third Reigns vs. Rhodes WrestleMania match for the Undisputed WWE Championship.
Had WWE gone ahead with the planned Reigns vs. Rhodes, it would have been the third instalment of the series in four years, and could have become stale for the fans.

Finally, Cody Rhodes’ stance was that changing the title hands allows him to have a new story and a fresh change of pace ahead of WrestleMania season.
