Top WWE Stars Set To Miss Extreme Rules

It would seem as if three of the top names on the WWE roster are not set to be part of Extreme Rules on 8th October.

Whilst it is still a long way off with plenty of Premium Live Events to take place before the show takes place, recent advertising would indicate that there will be some different names in the top spot with three you would expect to see not currently scheduled.

As noted by the Wrestling Observer Newsletter, Roman Reigns, Brock Lesnar and Ronda Rousey are not part of the advertising for the extreme event.

For current Undisputed WWE Universal Champion Roman Reigns, this would fit the theme of his schedule with the company being scaled back. ‘The Head Of The Table’ last made a defence of his titles against Riddle on the 17th June edition of Monday Night Raw, which was also the first time he had competed with the titles on the line since the unification match against Brock Lesnar at WrestleMania 38.

It is perhaps to be expected that ‘The Beast Incarnate wouldn’t be a part of Extreme Rules, with Brock Lesnar generally only being utilised by WWE for the “big four” Premium Live Events. Reigns and Lesnar are set to once again face off for the championships at SummerSlam, so there is a chance that the result of that match could have an impact on announcements for Extreme Rules.

Ronda Rousey is more of a surprise if not involved in the event, having been a full-time member of the roster since making her WWE return at the 2022 Royal Rumble. Eventually taking the SmackDown Women’s Championship from Charlotte Flair at WrestleMania Backlash, ‘The Baddest Woman On The Planet’ would hold the title all the way through to Money In The Bank when Liv Morgan cashed in her newly-won briefcase to take advantage of the fact Rousey had just competed against Natalya.
