Top AEW Star Rules Out WWE Return & Wants To Retire There

A major AEW star has seemingly ruled out ever going back to WWE and said they want to retire in Tony Khan’s company.

2025 was a bizarre year for Andrade El Idolo. The star was fired from WWE less than two years after making his return to the company after an ill-fated stint in AEW. To the shock of everyone, the Mexican star was soon back in AEW with Tony Khan insisting that Andrade left his company the right way, and he was keen to work with him again.

Disaster struck when WWE got involved, reminding Andrade that because he was fired, he was subject to a one-year non-compete clause. After a few months in the wilderness again, Andrade made his return to New Japan Pro Wrestling at the start of 2026 and has since properly returned to AEW.

But it seems that now he’s back in AEW, he has no intention of going anywhere else.

Andrade In AEW For The Long Haul

After a back-and-forth with a fan on social media, Andrade noted that he wasn’t joking when he said he wanted to retire in AEW:
