CM Punk made his dream return to wrestling by joining AEW in 2021.

After leaving WWE in 2014, Punk pursued other ventures, including an attempt at becoming an MMA star. When all was said and done, he decided to return to his first love, which is professional wrestling.

However, instead of heading back to Stamford, he journeyed to Jacksonville and signed with the Tony Khan-led promotion, where he became a 2-time AEW World Champion.

CM Punk joining All Elite Wrestling should have transcended the wrestling company, which it did to an extent, but The Second City Saint also made enemies.

After a backstage confrontation with Jack Perry after the 2023 All In, he was fired from the promotion. In November that same year, he made his shocking return to WWE at Survivor Series: WarGames.

Eddie Kingston Reveals Real-Life Heat With CM Punk

Eddie Kingston self-admittedly is not a fan of CM Punk.

During an appearance at Squared Circle Expo VI, the former AEW Continental Champion claimed that he did not like Punk, even stating that he enjoyed beating him up during their 2021 rivalry.

He kicked off the discussion by revealing that they did not collaborate before their match due to the tension that existed between them.

People ask me this and they’re like, ‘Oh, what did you guys talk about—the match, this and that?’ Listen, I didn’t say a word to him. We went in there and we fought. That’s it. Phil don’t like me. I don’t like Phil. That’s it. And that’s the way it’s going to be.

Kingston also made it clear that he had no intention of burying CM Punk on a public forum, but he did not want to mend things either.

And my thing is this—I’m not talking s*** about him. It’s just the way it is. We don’t like each other.

The 44-year-old then went on to say that if they worked in the same company, they would need cops to keep them apart.

If we’re in the same company together, we’re probably going to run into each other or whatever. You’ve got to put cops in front of us. That’s it.

He then spoke about enjoying beating up CM Punk when he began bleeding during their match in 2021.

Whatever—I fought him, it wasn’t even a match. He did bleed, bro. I enjoyed the f*** out of that when he started bleeding. I told him—I whispered in his ear—I said, ‘Let me taste—if you let me taste if there’s any p***y in your f****** blood.’ That shows you how much I like him.

Kingston last competed in AEW in February 2026 when he was featured in an 8-man Parking Lot Fight on Collision.
