MJF holds court on AEW TV

Tony Khan has opened up about the possibility of MJF jumping ship from AEW to WWE.

MJF is currently on top of the world in AEW as the AEW Men’s World Champion, having reclaimed that title at Worlds End at the end of 2025. Such has been The Salt of the Earth’s monumental ascent in AEW, he has long been talked about as a potential main event star in WWE as well.

So much so that a “bidding war of 2024” storyline emerged in AEW as MJF touted that he’d be available to the highest bidder in that year. That storyline was scrapped as it was revealed that the star had signed a new long-term deal with Tony Khan.

So what does the AEW boss think about one of his top stars choosing to stay put when he was so obviously linked with the sports entertainment giant?

Tony Khan Feels Incredible That MJF Stuck With AEW

Speaking to talkSPORT, Khan was asked how he feels when stars such as MJF are linked with WWE but choose to remain in his company:

It makes me feel incredible. I feel really great about what we’re doing at AEW right now, and I think wrestlers around the world want to be here. AEW is where the best wrestle. We’re seeing women and men across pro wrestling show that this is where so many of the greatest stars have chosen to be—and to stay—for a reason.

This is where we’re wrestling at the highest level. We’re putting on tremendous shows. And with this lineup of wrestlers and the big events we have set to come, people want to be here and the fans are tuning in.
