Tony Khan Claims Latest Signing Is “Huge For AEW”
Tony Khan has added to the hype surrounding AEW’s latest signing, saying that it is “huge” for the company.
Since opening its doors in 2019, AEW has had a big impact on professional wrestling. The company’s President, Tony Khan, has successfully built an incredible roster of talent over the last three years, including up-and-comers like Sammy Guevara and Britt Baker while also featuring huge names like Chris Jericho, Kenny Omega, and Bryan Danielson.
The promotion has also kept the so-called ‘Forbidden Door’ wide open, using stars from the likes of IMPACT Wrestling, NJPW, and GCW to stage some dream matches over the last few years.
Tony Khan has announced that AEW’s newest acquisition will be coming through the Forbidden Door on the next episode of Dynamite. Taking to social media, he revealed that the free agent in question will clash with Isiah Kassidy for a chance to qualify for the Face of the Revolution Ladder Match, earning a TNT Championship opportunity in the process.

In a recent interview with Sports Illustrated, Tony Khan looked to build up more anticipation over just who has decided to become All Elite.
“It’s a huge signing for us. I have created some debate about what it means to open the ‘Forbidden Door,’ and that’s what we are going to do on this show. The fans are going to get a great night of wrestling, and I hope everyone is surprised—and comes back for the matches this sets up.”
Adding to that, Khan said that the signing would set up fresh, exciting matches for the company, and would have implications as soon as this Friday’s episode of Rampage.
“I’m continually looking to improve the roster and bring in new stars and create fresh matchups, and that’s what you’re going to see this Wednesday. We now have such a strong roster of wrestlers under contract that we can put fresh, exciting matches on Dynamite every Wednesday on TBS and Rampage [every Friday] on TNT.
“It’s going to be a big reveal on Dynamite. It sets up this week’s Rampage and puts a lot of irons in our fire. We have created an environment in AEW where people routinely expect great wrestling matches, and we have the wrestlers to live up to those high expectations.”
