Tony Khan Confirms Injury To AEW Star

Tony Khan

The injury list continues to stack up for AEW, as Tony Khan has confirmed that a female star is on the shelf who he is looking forward to seeing return.

Although losing Kenny Omega to a long-term recovery from multiple injuries, it is only over the last few weeks that the injury list has expanded exponentially. The build-up to Forbidden Door was filled with wrestlers being forced to withdraw from matches, including the likes of Bryan Danielson and CM Punk. If that wasn’t enough, Adam Cole then got injured during the show, and Santana picked up a knee injury during the following Wednesday’s Blood And Guts match on Dynamite.

Tony Khan has now confirmed that Penelope Ford can be added to that list. Responding to a fan on social media who was questioning whether he had given up her due to a lack of recent appearances, the AEW President made it clear he is in the company’s future plans and can’t wait for her to return.

Not at all, total opposite in fact; she’s a great wrestler, and I can’t wait until she’s medically cleared to come back. She’s been in some classic @AEW matches, and hopefully she’ll be in many more!

Penelope Ford has not been seen on AEW programming since January, when she competed on Dark in a successful outing against Angelica Risk. Ford has remained active on social media since then without detailing the nature of her injury, and has still been making public appearances including being ConnectiCon alongside The Butcher and The Blade later this week.
