The Young Bucks Would “Love To Have” Kota Ibushi In AEW

The Young Bucks

The Young Bucks say they’d love to have former IWGP World Heavyweight Champion Kota Ibushi in AEW following his exit from New Japan Pro Wrestling.

Kota Ibushi’s time with New Japan Pro Wrestling came to an end at the end of January 2023, following an acrimonious spell between the two camps. The former IWGP World Heavyweight Champion has not competed in the ring since the G1 Climax final in October 2021 that had to be stopped when Ibushi suffered a bad injury, allowing Kazuchika Okada to pick up the win.

Ibushi will be competing at Game Changer Wrestling events over WrestleMania weekend, including a bout against Speedball Mike Bailey at Bloodsport. But could Kota Ibushi have a longer-term future in the US?

Speaking with Dark Puroresu Flowsion, The Young Bucks gave their thoughts on Kota Ibushi and say they’d love to work with him again in the future:

“Love him. Miss him. He kept us in the loop the night of Tokyo Dome about Kenny. Kept sending us little updates. Goes without question we’d love to have him around, or work with him. I think he has the ability to do whatever he wants.”

The Young Bucks and Kota Ibushi teamed in the main event of All In – considered by many as the precursor to AEW – in 2018. On that occasion The Golden Elite – as the trio was known – defeated the lucha all-star team of Rey Fenix, Bandido, and Rey Mysterio.
