According to a huge speculation, Kofi Kingston and Xavier Woods of The New Day might be joining AEW following their WWE departure.

A recent piece of big news that shocked wrestling fans to the core was that Kofi Kingston and Xavier Woods of The New Day have mutually parted ways with WWE. It was heartbreaking news because both Kingston and Woods have been with the Stamford-based promotion for a long time, and many fans believed they were WWE lifers due to their legendary run as the New Day, along with Big E as well.

According to a recent report, both Kofi and Xavier were asked to take a pay cut on their existing deals, which would’ve lasted until 2030. The former World Tag Team Champions reportedly refused to accept the pay cut and decided to leave the company. While there is no official announcement regarding the future of the New Day yet, the internet wrestling community believes that they might be heading to All Elite Wrestling. The former WWE name, Jonathan Coachman, also believes the same.

The New Day may have a deal waiting for them in AEW after WWE exit

In a video shared on his X social media handle, the former WWE personality, Jonathan Coachman gave his two cents on the New Day’s shocking exit from the Stamford-based promotion, allegedly because they were asked for a pay cut. While criticising TKO, Coach also claimed that both Xavier Woods and Kofi Kingston probably have a deal waiting for them in AEW:

What I believe is they said no, A, because they have pride, but also they probably have a deal waiting for them, and rightfully so, in AEW. Because I never say, ‘Oh, just blindly take the WWE talent.’ But this is a duo that is diverse, clearly you need diversity in sports and sports entertainment.”

Coachman further explained why Tony Khan bringing in the New Day to his promotion makes a lot of sense:

They also have interests outside of wrestling, the video game stuff is still popping. So, there’s a lot of reasons why Tony Khan bringing in The New Day makes a ton of sense.” [from 2:36 onwards]

Only time will tell if Kofi Kingston and Xavier Woods will be seen in AEW following their WWE departure.
