A verdict was recently passed in Stephanie Vaquer’s lawsuit against her former partner, El Cuatrero.

Taking to X, Mexican journalist, Antonio Nieto, revealed that Cuatrero had been sentenced for 12 years and 8 months after being found guilty of attempted femicide and domestic violence.

Vaquer had filed the complaint in March 2023 after an altercation with her ex-boyfriend, whose real name is Rogelio Reyes. Reyes was arrested after a AAA Lucha Libre show in Mexico.

12 years, 8 months SENTENCE to Cuatrero: A judge individualized the penalty this Tuesday to the wrestler, for attempted #feminicidio and family violence against @Steph_Vaquer. It would be 10 years, 8 months for the 2 years that Cuatrero was already confined. For now, he will remain free on bail.

Following his arrest, El Cuatrero served a 2-year prison term and was released in March 2025. Earlier, reports claimed that he had been cleared to wrestle, but while under judicial supervision.

As per the terms, he was required to accept bookings while keeping legal authorities in the loop about his wrestling schedules. Furthermore, he would avoid venues and events where Stephanie Vaquer was physically present.

Stephanie Vaquer’s Ex Avoids Going To Prison

Despite reports confirming that El Cuatrero has received a prison sentence, new statements claim that he has avoided going to prison.

As reported by Planeta Wrestling, the Mexico City Prosecutor’s Office has confirmed that he will serve his sentence while being under house arrest instead of being behind bars.

The Matador WILL NOT GO TO PRISON after attempting to end Stephanie Vaquer’s life.

The Mexico City Prosecutor’s Office has confirmed that he will serve his sentence of 12 years and 8 months under house arrest, with a restraining order prohibiting him from approaching Vaquer…

It’s a sad day.

The report further clarified that the restraining order against Cuatrero will remain in effect, preventing him from approaching Stephanie Vaquer in any capacity. It also blocks him from accepting a booking from AAA Lucha Libre, which is now owned by WWE.

The latest update is bound to receive backlash from the fans of the Chilean wrestler, who is currently in a relationship with NXT North American Champion Myles Borne.

There were reports earlier of frustrations within the Vaquer camp regarding the duration of the sentence and that Cuatrero remained on bail during the legal process.
