Sheamus Frustrated With WWE Creative Decision: “It’s Tough For Me”
Sheamus had his hopes of appearing at WrestleMania 41 dashed after a failed pitch he presented to the WWE.
Since debuting in 2009, Sheamus has conquered various challenges and won many titles, including the World Heavyweight Championship. However, the one belt that has remained elusive for The Celtic Warrior is the Intercontinental Championship, which is what his pitch was about.
In an interview with the Daily Mail, the 2012 Royal Rumble winner revealed his intentions to return to the Intercontinental Championship arena at WrestleMania 41.
I had pitched to hopefully get in the Intercontinental title stuff again. They’re probably tired about me talking about it but that’s the one title that I have left to become the first ever ultimate Grand Slam Champion in WWE.
Calling the IC title his ‘Holy Grail’, Sheamus looked back on his frustrations of not being in the title picture. More so, he was about to miss being a part of WrestleMania in Las Vegas.
It’s tough for me. I don’t care, if you have passion for what you do you don’t want to miss that, he stated.
Sheamus, nevertheless, strongly believes there is one more title run in him at 47 years old. With that in mind, he returned to in-ring action on WWE Raw last Monday, facing Austin Theory.
Sheamus ‘Walks Alone’ For Now With Championship Hopes In Sight
After defeating Theory on his WWE return, Sheamus will be hopeful of receiving an Intercontinental Championship match in the near future. On the journey, he has other challenges. Next week on Raw, he is set to go one-on-one with Grayson Waller, Theory’s tag team partner. The 12-time champion is determined to prove his quality as a veteran wrestler, and Waller is just another step towards his goals.
