Do Shawn Michaels and The Rock have real-life heat?

The Rock has been speculated to have backstage heat with Triple H over creative differences. This speculation stemmed from the fact that The Brahma Bull has not been on WWE TV since Elimination Chamber 2025, where John Cena turned heel.

Since The Rock stopped appearing on WWE TV, John Cena’s heel turn was a wasted opportunity, and the storyline was scrapped.

Shawn Michaels opened up about real-life heat with The Rock

While speaking on the 7PM in Brooklyn with Carmelo Anthony podcast, The Heartbreak Kid addressed the rumour of him and The Rock having real-life heat. He revealed that the duo get along and talk about stuff, and by the time Michaels returned, The Final Boss had already transitioned to his Hollywood career.

The thing is, when he was younger, he was fed a lot. Again, later on—and to this day—we get along and we talk about stuff. That’s what I think everyone would have liked to have seen, but by the time I came back, he was well off into his Hollywood career and stuff like that.

Apart from The Rock, Michaels also addressed rumours claiming backstage issues between Triple H and him.

I will say this—again, I think over the years there’s been a big kerfuffle in the wrestling business about me and Hunter, about me doing something to him and being mean and stuff like that. All of it was blown out of proportion—none of it accurate.
