Seth Rollins Shocks The World & Cashes In On CM Punk At WWE SummerSlam
CM Punk ended Gunther’s World Heavyweight Championship reign at WWE SummerSlam. However, his reign only lasted a few minutes as Seth Rollins made a shocking return to dethrone him with a Money in the Bank cash-in.
Gunther held the World Heavyweight Championship for 258 days before dropping it to Jey Uso at WrestleMania 41. After the Show of Shows, The Ring General had a brief angle with Pat McAfee before returning to the world title picture.
On the June 9 episode of Monday Night RAW, the Austrian star recaptured the World Heavyweight Championship, ending Jey Uso’s 51-day reign. He later put his title on the line against the returning Goldberg in the WWE Hall of Famer’s retirement match at Saturday Night’s Main Event.
Meanwhile, CM Punk recently won a gauntlet match on RAW to become Gunther’s next challenger. The two went head-to-head for the title tonight at SummerSlam.
Gunther dominated the match despite Punk’s multiple attempts to turn the tables. However, The Ring General was busted open at one point after The Second City Saint dropped him on the announce table. Michael Cole and Wade Barrett pointed out that the champion might have broken his nose.
Meanwhile, Punk took advantage, delivering an elbow from the top rope and a double GTS to Gunther to pin him for the victory and capture his first over 12 years.

Seth Rollins Returns and Cashes In On CM Punk At WWE SummerSlam
Seth Rollins suffered an injury during his match against LA Knight at Saturday Night’s Main Event. He has since been off television with reports suggesting he could be out for several months.
Although The Visionary confirmed the same, he made a shocking return at SummerSlam to cash in on The Second City Saint. After hitting an exhausted Punk with the Money in the Bank briefcase multiple times, he stomped him for the victory to become the new World Heavyweight Championship.
