Seth Rollins, AJ Lee, Brock Lesnar: Major Update On WWE WrestleMania 42 Plans
Earlier reports suggested that Seth Rollins, AJ Lee, and Brock Lesnar were planned for WrestleMania 42, but those plans now appear to be subject to change.
According to initial reports, Seth Rollins was slated to face his betrayer, Bron Breakker, who kicked him out of The Vision. AJ Lee was rumored to return to face Becky Lynch for the Women’s Intercontinental Championship, something WWE teased last year.
Brock Lesnar was also expected to clash with Oba Femi, a matchup that fans got a preview of at the Royal Rumble when Lesnar shockingly eliminated Femi. However, new reports indicate that none of these WrestleMania 42 plans are finalized.
Fightful Select reports that WWE sources told them the original WrestleMania plans have not yet been officially presented, and much of the card is still under discussion. This means WWE has not locked in the WrestleMania 42 lineup and could make several changes in the coming weeks.
“We were told by WWE sources that a number of the ‘original plans’ for WrestleMania have simply not been presented, and that a lot of the WrestleMania card is still being discussed.”
Roman Reigns’ Original WrestleMania 42 Plans
Adding to this, Dave Meltzer recently confirmed that WWE’s original plan was for Bron Breakker to win the 2026 Men’s Royal Rumble and face CM Punk at WrestleMania 42, while Roman Reigns vs. Cody Rhodes was slated as another marquee match.
However, Triple H reportedly did not want to run the same main event for the third time in four years, leading to a change in direction. As a result, Roman Reigns won the Royal Rumble and chose to challenge CM Punk instead.
