Ryan Cabrera Reveals Wild Story Behind Meeting Alexa Bliss
Alexa Bliss and her husband, Ryan Cabrera, met in a very unique way.
As a former 5-time WWE Women’s Champion and 4-time Women’s Tag Team Champion with three different partners, Alexa Bliss has had an amazing run as a WWE superstar that will likely see her in the Hall of Fame one day down the road.
After being signed by WWE at 22 years old with no wrestling history, Bliss rose in NXT with some success, then surpassed all expectations on the main roster as one of the women who were pushed heavily when “Women’s Evolution” really took over in the mid 2010s.
Outside the ring, Bliss started dating singer Ryan Cabrera in early 2020. They got married in April 2022, and she gave birth to the couple’s daughter, Hendrix, in November 2023.
While speaking to singer Joel Madden on Artist Friendly, Cabrera opened up about how he met Bliss, with social media playing a big role.
“We met uh from a random rumor kind of. So a rumor started online that we were dating. And we didn’t know each other. It’s a long story.
How it happened was the guy that was doing my social media, and…I was on a TV show with The Miz and I think because I was on a show with a wrestler, he was thinking, ‘Okay, it’s good, we should start liking all the wrestlers stuff since you’re on a TV show with one of the wrestlers.’ And so he specifically started liking all of Alexa’s tweets, right?”
Alexa Bliss Noticed Ryan Cabrera Checking Her Out On Social Media
The story continued with Ryan Cabrera noting that Alexa Bliss realized he was liking a lot of her posts on social media, even though Cabrera admits it wasn’t really him.
“So meanwhile, she’s on her tour, doesn’t know me, I don’t know her. She’s taking screenshots. She’s like, ‘Yo, this Ryan Cabrera guy is liking everything I tweet.’ Meanwhile, I had no idea because I don’t even get on Twitter. So that’s going on, meanwhile, she literally has a screenshot still on her phone.
She was showing all the other girls in the locker room like ‘Yo, this guy, I think he’s married to Ashlee Simpson, but he keeps liking all my stuff.’ And eventually she wrote and…that guy hit me up and he’s like ‘Yo, Alexa Bliss just wrote you.’ I’m like ‘What?’ So I looked her up and I was like ‘Oh, what’s my Twitter info?’”
After getting the message from Bliss, the pair started talking and hit it off.
When Alexa Bliss shared her side of the dating story in the past, she said that he invited her to one of his concerts, and she declined to hang out with him after the show, but they kept talking and eventually got married.
“I ended up going to the show and he invited me out after the show and I turned him down. But we continued to talk, and he was very patient and persistent, and we became amazing friends. Ultimately it turned into an amazing relationship. He’s so sweet and so amazing.”
On the March 6th edition of WWE SmackDown, Alexa Bliss and Charlotte Flair earned a big win to give them a shot at the Women’s Tag Team Titles held by Nia Jax and Lash Legend. WWE has yet to announce when the title match will take place, but it certainly puts Bliss and Flair on track to become two-time Women’s Tag Team Champions.
