A current title holder in ROH looks like they could be weeks away from their contract expiring with the company.

‘The Machine’ Brian Cage signed up with All Elite Wrestling in 2020 and made his debut as the mystery entrant in the Casino Ladder Match at Double Or Nothing. He won the contest to instantly earn an AEW World Championship opportunity, and his new manager Taz also bestowed the FTW Championship on him.

However, a new report from Fightful Select has indicated that Cage’s contract is set to expire in a matter of weeks, unless he agrees to a contract extension. It is also noted that Cage’s deal was set to expire in 2022, but AEW picked up the option of a year’s extension despite him not appearing on TV for an extended period of time.

Brian Cage is also well known for his time in IMPACT Wrestling where he held the World Championship, as well as having an extended spell in AAA. He currently holds the Ring Of Honor Six Man Tag Team Championships alongside Kaun and Toa Liona, titles the team won at Death Before Dishonor 2022 when they defeated Dalton Castle and The Boys.

It’s also unknown at this time if it is just Cage’s contract which is set to expire soon due to the date the original contract and extension were signed, or if there are other competitors in the same position. It also could be that an extension has been offered and Cage has decided not to sign, or that AEW haven’t offered it in the first place.
